Arts Collectives

RMIT Union [Arts] through the Arts Council supports students form Arts Collectives across artforms and areas of creative practice. Through Collective participation, members extend their networks and gain experience that will serve at university and beyond.

The Arts Council 

The Arts Council is comprised of collective representatives and general student representatives. It is a body that voices the importance of arts, and steers the direction of arts on campus.

The RMIT Union Arts Council aims to:

  • support students in the promotion of artistic and cultural pursuits
  • act as the peak representative body for students interested in the arts
  • provide an active voice for students, encouraging debate on issues concerning artistic and cultural  affairs within the broader university environment
  •  provide a network for students to enjoy the diverse artistic practice on campus
  •  encourage growth of the arts and cultural activities on campus to a broad and diverse audience

NEW Quick Response Funding of $500.00

RMIT Union Arts has Quick Response Funding available for opportunities and projects that happen out of the general arts council funding time. Applicants are Eligible for up to $500.

  • CK Collective (wearcrazykids):
    A month long collaborative residency program for two RMIT fine art students in  Chiangmai, Thailand.
  • RMIT Music: 
    Funding towards a number of concerts and public performances throughout second Semester.

  • Cable
    Surround Sound Workshop and Masterclass followed by concert / performance.

    Student attendance at the Intervarsity Choral Festival and a combine choir concert.
  • Michael Pulsford and James Gaunt:
    Excellent Academic Records; a student run record label.  Open to all students.
  • Stream: 
    A free one night screening of historic ‘visual music’ and ‘optical sound’ works and artist talks / presentations.
